His role is rooted in decades of real-world experience safeguarding communities, organizations, and individuals in high-risk environments.
Ryan’s professional journey began with distinguished service of 30 years to the United States Marine Corps, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant Major, a testament to his steadfast leadership, commitment to mission success, and ability to mentor and inspire teams under pressure. His time in the Marines instilled a foundation of discipline, rapid decision-making, and resilience that continues to influence his approach to security and risk-management solutions.
Following his military career, Ryan dedicated more than 30 years to public safety in civilian law enforcement, most notably as Chief of Police for the Town of Winterville, North Carolina. During his tenure as chief, he oversaw all aspects of departmental strategy, operations, training, and community engagement, earning respect for his open-door leadership style and commitment to building trust between officers and the public they serve. Under his guidance, the department maintained strong public safety outcomes and forged deeper bonds with the community.
As Regional Director, Ryan now brings that same level of professionalism and operational excellence to NC Protection Group’s comprehensive suite of services, including executive protection, risk assessment, and security program leadership. His leadership ensures every client engagement is informed by proven tactics, ethical standards, and a client-first mindset.
Ryan holds a master’s degree in Criminal Justice and Political Science from East Carolina University, further grounding his practical expertise with academic insight.
