Position Overview
As an Unarmed Uniformed Security Officer, you will maintain a safe, secure, and professional environment within a modern manufacturing facility located in Durham, NC.
Security Officers rotate between multiple security assignments throughout each shift, including access control, security screening, surveillance monitoring, facility patrols, and incident response.
This position requires excellent communication skills, strong situational awareness, professionalism, and the ability to make sound decisions while delivering outstanding customer service.
Primary Responsibilities
Access Control
Protect the facility by controlling access for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Staffing security entrances and exits
- Verifying employee badges and identification
- Processing visitors and contractors
- Maintaining visitor logs
- Monitoring deliveries and outbound traffic
- Enforcing facility access procedures
- Following visitor escort protocols
Weapons & Intellectual Property Screening
Help protect employees and sensitive company assets by:
- Conducting security screening procedures
- Preventing unauthorized weapons from entering the facility
- Protecting confidential intellectual property
- Enforcing prohibited item policies
- Reporting violations
- Documenting suspicious activity
Facility Patrol
Perform scheduled patrols throughout the manufacturing campus by:
- Walking interior patrol routes
- Conducting exterior patrols
- Performing vehicle patrols when assigned
- Inspecting doors, gates, loading docks, and restricted areas
- Identifying safety hazards
- Reporting maintenance concerns
- Monitoring for unauthorized access
Surveillance & Incident Response
Maintain situational awareness through technology and proactive response by:
- Monitoring CCTV cameras
- Observing alarm systems
- Responding to alarms
- Investigating incidents
- De-escalating conflicts professionally
- Completing detailed incident reports
- Preparing daily activity reports
Professional Security Services
Represent NC Protection Group by:
- Maintaining a professional appearance
- Providing exceptional customer service
- Enforcing company rules
- Following site-specific security procedures
- Supporting emergency responders
- Coordinating with supervisors and facility management
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid North Carolina PPSB Unarmed Security Registration (Guard Card)
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent observation skills
- Professional report-writing ability
- Reliable transportation
- Dependable attendance
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
- Ability to remain calm during emergencies

Work Environment

- Lifting up to 25 pounds when necessary
Work Schedule
This position follows a 2-2-3 rotating schedule, providing full-time employment with predictable time off.
